Our Story

The same problem, years in the making

2021
A hobby project

Started part-time by the founder

Already deep in website builders with two earlier ones built in their career, the founder began ChaiBuilder as a side project. No team, no funding. Just conviction that the problem was worth solving properly.

Pre-AI experiments

Many attempts, hard lessons

Multiple iterations, including a website builder and a code generator. Each attempt revealed what worked and what didn't. The hard part was never building a builder; it was building one that was both usable and truly owned by the user.

The pivot
AI changes everything

Direction changed, team pivoted

As AI matured, the approach that had eluded years of experimentation became possible. The team pivoted, and today's product is the direct result. AI didn't replace the vision; it unlocked it.

This isn't a v1 from a standing start. It's the distillation of years of trying to solve the same problem the right way.
