About ChaiBuilder

ChaiBuilder is a visual website builder for Next.js, shipped as an npm package and as a white-label platform for teams and agencies. It comes with built-in AI and an MCP server so agents can build and edit sites directly. We are a small, remote team at OuterEdge Lab, based in Pune. Everyone here ships real product, talks directly to users and owns their work end to end.

How we work: AI-first

AI coding agents are part of how we build every day, from planning and scaffolding to refactoring, testing and reviews. We expect you to be fluent with tools like Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot and to use them to move fast.

Speed is only half the job. You stay accountable for what ships: you read the code AI writes, catch its mistakes, and know when to take the wheel yourself.

What you will do

  • Build and ship features across ChaiBuilder with Next.js and React
  • Make sure every site built with ChaiBuilder is fast and search-friendly: performance, Core Web Vitals and clean SEO output
  • Work on our Next.js integration and the npm packages developers install
  • Build AI features and MCP tools that let agents work with ChaiBuilder
  • Use AI agents across the full cycle: planning, coding, testing and code review
  • Fix bugs, write docs and help customers when something breaks

What we are looking for

  • 2-3 years of professional experience building production apps with Next.js (App Router, Server Components, route handlers)
  • Strong web fundamentals: HTTP, caching, rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, ISR), semantic HTML and accessibility
  • Page speed and performance: Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, image and font optimization, bundle size and lazy loading
  • Technical SEO: metadata, structured data, sitemaps, canonicals, redirects and crawlability
  • Solid React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS
  • Working knowledge of AI and MCP: how LLMs, tool calling and MCP servers fit together
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools, with examples you can show us
  • Strong fundamentals to review, debug and improve AI-generated code
  • Clear written communication for a remote team
  • Your own laptop that can comfortably run a modern Next.js development setup

Preferred

  • Experience working with a CMS, headless or traditional

Nice to have

  • Backend experience with servers: Node.js APIs, databases, deploying and running services
  • Open source contributions or npm packages you maintain
  • Experience building editors, drag-and-drop interfaces or developer tools
